Harvest

It takes about nine months for coffee cherries to ripen after flowering. In most of the origin, the harvest is picked by hand to ensure high quality. Careful and selective picking ensures a homogeneous yield, which, in turn, ensures that the coffee is rich in flavour. Here you will find information about coffee harvesting.

Managing happy coffee farms

Coffee bushes begin to bear cherries when they are 2–4 years old, and they produce 1–2 crops every year. To improve the harvest and to make picking easier, it is important to prune the bushes. Coffee farming requires meticulousness, as the coffee tree is very delicate.

Hundreds of happy crops

Coffee is a seasonal product and crops may vary from one year to another, depending on how good the conditions are. Coffee is harvested every month of the year somewhere on the planet.

By hand or machine?

Depending on the origin and the region of production, coffee is picked either manually or mechanically. Coffee that grows on slopes can only be picked by hand, but on the flat ground, it is possible to use harvesting machines.
